About
UCLouvain fulfills three missions:
-Teaching (about 30,000 students)
The UCLouvain wants to allow all those who wish it – young people out of secondary education or adults engaged in the professional life – to train themselves and to acquire the skills useful for their development and their professional activities. In order to guarantee the quality of training, pedagogical innovation is closely linked to the development and updating of programs.
-Research
Research University, UCLouvain takes its place in an international community based on the recognition of the excellence of our contributions to the development and transmission of knowledge. UCL promotes an environment conducive to scientific creativity, valorisation activities and the balance between researcher and teacher functions.
-Service to society. (more than 80 spin-offs, 2 university clinics, etc.)
Through its regional roots in seven locations in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and its two university hospitals, by the impact of its research and teaching, by the network of Alumni it energizes, the creation of spin-offs, the development of science parks and incubators or development cooperation, UCLouvain contributes to the development of a society that ensures the well-being of all citizens.
