Born in France, Dr. Brunet has been working in the field of health and social services for over thirty years. He has been President and Chief Executive Officer of the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) since September 2015. Previously, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of CHU Sainte-Justine from January 2009 to September 2018 and CEO of the two hospitals from September 2015 to 2018.
On July 14, 2018, he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour by France for his entire career in the health field. He has excellent leadership, initiative and experience to meet future challenges, as well as to innovate, through care, teaching, research and institutional management activities, for the benefit of patients.
His main research interests include hospital management and health systems integration, artificial intelligence, communication and medical information technologies, continuous improvement of the quality of care and patient safety, international collaboration and know-how transfer.
