Erik Poirier is Vice-President of Groupe BIM du Québec and a member of the Board of Directors of buildingSMART Canada. He holds a doctorate and master’s degree in construction engineering from the École de Technologie Supérieure and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Laval University. He also completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of British Columbia. He has been working in the field of architecture for more than a decade. He currently leads the Quebec Construction 4.0 Initiative to support the digitization of Quebec’s construction industry and its built environment. He is also an Associate Professor at the École de Technologie Supérieure and Canadian representative on the mirror committee ISO/TC59 SC 13 – Organization of information on construction work. He specializes in the integration and optimization of information flows within value chains in the built environment.
